A day with Noodle

Follow Olivia, who is 8, from after school to Sunday breakfast: what she does with Noodle, and what you see in the Kitchen, your parent dashboard. How every question is checked, and how your family's data is kept, is in our promises.

Olivia asks a question. You get a row in the Kitchen.

how far away is the moon

Noodle

The Moon is about 384,000 kilometres away. That's like driving round the Earth nearly ten times! 🌙 A rocket takes about three days to get there. Would you like to know what astronauts eat on the way?

Can you write my story about a dragon? It's due tomorrow.

Noodle

I won't write it for you, but let's build it together! What's your dragon called, and what does it want more than anything?

  • HomeworkA hint or a similar example, never the finished work.
  • Story BookTheir own characters, a story in chapters, and the child decides what happens next.
  • QuizzesOne question at a time, with a reason why.

When Olivia is worried, Noodle is kind and points her to a grown-up.

Someone at school said they're not my friend any more.

Noodle

That sounds really hurtful, and it's OK to feel sad. Friends do fall out and make up again. Please tell a grown-up you trust, like someone in your family, so they can help you feel better.

Noodle flagged something important in one of Olivia's chats.

If a child says someone at home is hurting them, that message isn't shown to you, so they have somewhere safe to say it. Why, in our promises

5.00pmlearning to ask

Whatever they ask, Noodle teaches them to ask better.

Asking AI a good question is a skill. Ask something vague and Noodle answers, then shows a sharper way to ask it, for Olivia to try in her own words.

Explain volcanoes

Noodle

A volcano is an opening in the Earth's crust where melted rock comes out. Do you want to know how they form, or hear about a famous one?

Bedtimethe evening rule

Noodle sleeps when you say so.

Quiet hours are one stretch a day for the whole family, so Noodle sleeps at bedtime. You can set a daily limit for any child too, if you want one.

Breaks are on for every child, after

Ages 6 to 920 min
Ages 10 to 1230 min
Ages 13 to 1545 min

Olivia is 6 to 9, so hers is 20 minutes, and you can make breaks come sooner. With a daily limit, 6 to 9 year olds see a bowl rather than a number.

What do you do with my child's data? Will you sell it?

Never sold, never used to train AI, and never seen outside your family unless you choose to send us a message Noodle got wrong. You can download or delete everything whenever you like. How long chats are kept, in our promises.

How do I know I can trust you?

You can read every chat, we name every company involved, and we say plainly where Noodle still falls short. No safety check is perfect, so Noodle runs several. A person answers email.

Can my child talk to other people on Noodle?

No. Noodle has no other users and no way to share a chat. Only your child and your family's grown-ups ever see it.

Does Noodle make mistakes?

Sometimes, like any AI. Noodle encourages children to check important things, which is a habit worth learning young.
